Clancie grew up like many other kids, loving horses and drawing them throughout her childhood. In high school art class, she discovered pencil was her favorite medium and since then has focused on improving her skills. She attended Minneapolis College of Art and Design after high school looking to further her artistic style. She received a BFA in Design in 1996. 

Clancie draws in a style called photo realism, and likes the detail that pencils can give. She hopes to portray the western lifestyle in her work. She helps friends move and gather cattle, and attends brandings hoping to get a perfect photo to work from. Taking a camera with her whether it be horseback or vaccinating, she looks for just the right scene.  

It takes Clancie many hours to complete a drawing, but she finds the time spent rewarding when it causes a reaction from the viewer who takes a little time to study the detail. Clancie has entered her work in the Meeker Classic Art Contest, and NEBRASKAland Days Competitive Art Show. She currently has prints on display at The Yampa Valley Regional Airport in Hayden, CO.

Clancie lives in Fairbury, Nebraska.
